About 400 people gathered Wednesday afternoon outside the federal courthouse in Macon yesterday to draw attention to a petition for appeal filed on behalf of United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors founder Malachi York.

Most in attendance were York’s followers and enthusiastically applauded the brief remarks of Nuwaubian leaders in attendance.

The 23-page “petition for certificate of appealability,” which was submitted to the courts Wednesday afternoon, raises several objections to previous court rulings.

After playing the last man on Earth in I Am Legend, now Will Smith is going to become The Last Pharaoh.

The script will be written by Randall Wallace (who’d probably rather you remember him for Braveheart than Pearl Harbor), and centers on “Taharqa, the pharaoh who battled Assyrian invaders in ancient Egypt.”



Smith would play the pharaoh, a role he’s wanted to do for some time now, and brought the story to Wallace himself. Focusing on Taharqa’s battles with Assyrian leader Esarhaddon, it’s a little early to speculate on The Last Pharaoh’s bent. But if I had to guess, an epic action/adventure starring Will Smith is pretty much money in the bank, no matter who they eventually attach to direct.

One also surrenders the fruits of work performed. This is selfless where one regards oneself as the instrument of Paa Nazduru, and serves humanity with no thought of either credit or blame. Paa Nazduru do not work for you, they work with you. Ignorance, is the lack of awareness of reality. You can't really ignore a talking and moving person. It is identification with the temporal world rather than with the imperishable self.

Egoism is the "I-ness and my-ness", which creates the illusion that the physical body is the real you. "Likes and dislikes" are when a person is swayed by feelings of attraction and aversion. He or she is identifying with the material world, and setting him or herself up for the pain of loss and disappointment. Fear of death, or clinging to life, is binding and stiffening.

None can say when death will come, or the fear of death, which is a useless imagination, a waste of energy, and creates waves of pain, which exist only in the mind. Ignorance is the cause of the above-mentioned afflictions, which follow it, whether they be latent, weak, suppressed or aggravated.

The suffering which comes from egoism, attractions, repulsion, and fear of death all stems from ignorance, regardless of the degree to which they manifest. As the root of the other obstacles, ignorance of the true nature of the self is identification with the body and mind. When ignorance is replaced by enlightenment, all other causes of pain automatically disappear.

When in a state of ignorance, if an initiate mistakes what is mundane, for what is supreme; he or she cannot differentiate between that which will bring pain to the mind and body, and that which will bring immortality. Egoism is manifested when the initiate cannot distinguish his or herself from his or her senses and mind. He or she sees him or herself as separate from the rest of the initiates, reacting to others with a sense of competition rather than cooperation. Attraction is that which dwells on pleasure.

Most think of attraction and pleasure as positive things, but when associated with objects of the material world they inevitably bring pain. Nothing in the physical world is permanent; hence the constant fear of loss, and loss itself keeps those seeking pleasure in an unhappy state.

This is why the spiritual person learns to cultivate a dislike for worldly pleasures. He or she is never disappointed or unhappy. The result, ironically, is that, by not seeking pleasure, he or she is always happy. Just as attraction brings pain, so does aversion. The mental attitude of aversion is a negative one, and often makes a neutral situation appear as if it were one to be avoided. It is not possible to avoid all distasteful circumstances. When there are likes and dislikes, a person cannot be happy. He or she is dwelling on illusory pairs of opposites, rather than learning to be content in all situations, and surrendering to Paa Nazduru plan for his or her growth. Fear of death is the continuous desire to live, which is rooted even in the minds of the wise.

On April 23, 2004 A.D. an innocent man, Malachi Z. York was sentenced to 135 years in prison by Judge C. Royal, United States District Judge for the Middle District of Georgia. He received a lengthy sentence despite the fact that the legal maximum sentence for the crimes he was charged with is 50 years. The charges was given based entirely on hearsay. No physical evidence was ever produced by the FBI.
